1982 Backdate Porsche 911 Martini Tribute.
Another project was carried out for one of our clients. This time trying to pay tribute to an iconic model from the 1970s. Obviously with many improvements to get impressive handling, braking, and acceleration. Without leaving aside some details that provide comfort & exclusivity.
Built as a tribute to the iconic 1973 Porsche 911 RSR (R6) Targa Florio winning car, made famous by Herbert Müller and Gils van Lennep when they took the podium after a long battle in the 45-mile Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, the last such race as the FIA decided to cancel it after the 1973 season, ensuring the R6 and its drivers would be forever remembered as the Targa Florio’s eternal winners.
Originally a 3.0-liter car, a newer 3.2-liter powerplant was substituted which, at the time it was produced, was the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever fitted to a production 911.
An Elephant Racing single-fender Oil Cooler kit was installed to keep the engine properly cooled even during spirited track action, the electrical system was rebuilt using Kroon wiring harnesses. The Brembo brake system features 4-piston, monoblock front and 2-piece rear calipers, with one-piece 323 x 28 mm front and 309 x 28 mm rear cross-drilled rotors, steel braided brake lines, and performance street brake pads. The staggered two-piece aluminum Fuchs replica (RSR) finish wheels are 17” x 11” wide in the rear, fitted with 275/40ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sport tires, while the matching 17” x 9” front wheels carry 225/45ZR17 tires. A Track/Street Elephant Racing Coilover Advanced Technology Package has been installed, which comprises, in the front, a Strut Brace, Camber Plates with Monoball, GT3 Front Suspension System, Turbo Tie Rods, QuickChange Swaybar, Front Von Shocks Coilovers, Swaybar Backer Plate, and a Thru-Body Front Swaybar Reinforcement Kit. At the same time, the rear incorporates a Spring Plate Reinforcement and shock Tower Kit, Retro RSR Adjustable Swaybar, Von Shocks Coilovers, ASP Adjustable Spring Plate, Spring Plate PolyBronze Bearings, Trailing Arm Monoball Cartridges, and Swaybar Mount Kit. The fully restored interior features bucket seats upholstered in hand-buffed Can Can red leather, black vinyl door cards, and matching German wool carpeting, found also in the front luggage compartment.
